RAIMUND SCHMELTER
Born in 1950, sculptor Raimund Schmelter first learned the goldsmith's trade before his strong interest in reduced and stylized images led him to the visual arts. His works are characterized by the art of abstraction and concentration on essential features. He now works and lives in Ober Kostenz in Hunsrück, where he runs a studio in a former rectory together with Dorothea Heine and several cats.
Exhibitions in Essen, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Nuremberg, Leipzig, Mallorca, Salzburg, Modena, Tokyo and Los Angeles.
